Why Hire Online Filipino Workers?

This is a sticky post. For newest entries, see the next post.

Would it be worth it to hire online freelance workers from the Philippines? Even Google and Yahoo does not encourage telecommuting anymore. Why should I if the gurus have tested it and seen it does not work?

My observation all these years is: Not all people with an internet connection can work at home. However, there is a very small percent of people who DO thrive, perform well and even enjoy working for you, regardless of physical location.

So my answer to your question is, yes, it would be worth it to hire online Filipino workers because .. READ MORE>

Test little things? Or test for Impact?

Some people say, go do a split test or multi-variatetest on little things. Get the results quickly, and adjust quickly.

Some people recommend, don't just test and test meaningless things, test stuff with impact to the whole site.

I have tried both.  I happily test little things like a headline here, a copy there, layout, pictures, etc.  It takes me a long time to think of a test that will impact the whole site, but when I do think of something, I am very excited.

So what do I recommend?  While of course testing a hypothesis that will benefit the entire site should be the reflexive answer, testing little things is also imperative?

It's in testing the little things that you gather the ideas to have a grand hypothesis that will impact the site or the sales process.  It's in quick and "meaningless" tests that you realize there is this low hanging fruit of a hypothesis waiting for you to test to improve your site.

So I suggest do both.  Constantly work to do testing with big impact, but do your little testings along the way and learn from it.  Constantly try to integrate the big and little learnings, and truly your website will benefit in the long run.

PS. Warning to the faint-hearted:
Just because it took you days to think up a hypothesis for the entire site, doesn't mean that your traffic will gobble it up and give you quick results.  You may be surprised no one will pay attention to it :-)  I'm just saying.

How to Pay for Cebu Pacific Online Booking at Banco de Oro

I totally agree with Cebu Pacific's tagline, It's time everyone flies.  Sale tickets are quite affordable.  Bring your family to an island in the Philippines.  Or if you are getting an OD of staying at home and working, treat yourself to a trip!  It doesn't have to be expensive.  You can research the places you can go to and stay at and choose what fits your budget.

Don't have credit cards to book online?  Booking and paying for the trip is super easy!  You may pay over-the-counter at any Banco de Oro outlet.   Just make sure you have some cash with you when you book online, you will be required to pay at any BDO branch that same day you booked.  So be ready.

Now, are you excited?

First off, the sale page of the Cebu Pacific website is at
http://www.cebupacificair.com/flights-and-fares/seat-sale-promo.html

Pick the place and dates you are flying and fill in the names of all the guests.  Also fill in your contact numbers.

Important:  Note the ff.
1)   14-digit confirmation number and
2)   EXACT amount to be paid.
*You do not need to print the page that appears after you complete your booking, just right those down.

Now go to BDO and get the orange Payments slip.

You will need your confirmation number and exact amount to pay.

Now fill up the Payments form.  It's super easy.

1 - Fill up Company Name  with  "Cebu Pacific"
2 - Add the date
3 - Under "Subscribers' Account Number" write in the 14-digit confirmation number
4 - Under "Subscriber's Name" put in only one name, either yours or your companions'
5 - Under "Total Cash Payment," write in the exact amount stated in your online booking.  If you put in another amount, Cebu Pacific will not be able to validate your payment.
6-  Pay to the teller.

That's it.  It's very simple. In a few hours after payment, you will receive a text message from Cebu Pacific stating your travel details. You can also check your email for another confirmation message.

Hope you will be able to travel soon!
