Why Hire Online Filipino Workers?
This is a sticky post. For newest entries, see the next post.
Would it be worth it to hire online freelance workers from the Philippines? Even Google and Yahoo does not encourage telecommuting anymore. Why should I if the gurus have tested it and seen it does not work?
My observation all these years is: Not all people with an internet connection can work at home. However, there is a very small percent of people who DO thrive, perform well and even enjoy working for you, regardless of physical location.

Yay! Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valour) is Respected this 2010!
The good news is our Araw ng Kagitingan commemoration falls on its exact date this year.

One of the things that irk me a lot is the disrespect of moving historical holidays to the nearest Friday or Monday.
A lot of times in the past 10 years, the Day of Valour in the Philippines (April 9) is not important enough. The commemoration always gets moved a day or two, to accommodate a religious group's week-long holiday.
I'm offended, really. How dare anyone just change a day that remembers how our grandfathers and grnadmothers died horrible deaths protecting this country's independence 60 years ago?
You can change holidays. Long week-ends will be good for tourism, says the intrimitida officials.
Okay fine. I hope somebody changes your birthdays and see how that feels.
