Why Hire Online Filipino Workers?

Would it be worth it to hire online freelance workers from the Philippines? Even Google and Yahoo does not encourage telecommuting anymore. Why should I if the gurus have tested it and seen it does not work?

My observation all these years is: Not all people with an internet connection can work at home. However, there is a very small percent of people who DO thrive, perform well and even enjoy working for you, regardless of physical location.

Power Outages for the 1st Automated Elections

Today my online contacts from the different areas of the Philippines reported power outages (or brown outs, as we call it here) throughout the day.  

Yeah, I know the climate is a-changing and all, but I am not amused that power outages have so conveniently become more regular in time for the first automated elections.  Hurg.

I hope this does not become one of the means to cheat electronic voting.

PS.  Meralco, please update everybody often of schedules.  We have work to be done.  I am fortunate that I work at home and therefore can adjust my hours. I just won't be able to if the internet shuts down too.  Now for the other 9-6 companies that keep our Philippine economy afloat, please keep us updated of your outages.  Thanks.
